In around 1600 the parishes of Kinettas and Ussi were united to Fodderty and a new parish church was later erected in 1807 (which was further enlarged in 1842). In 1947, following the union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church, Fodderty parish church was joined with the former United Free Church congregation of Strathpeffer. After the local union the session became known as Fodderty and Strathpeffer and the former Strathpeffer Church was sold. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Dingwall, later Chanonry and Dingwall and, following the restructuring of the presbyteries in 1976, it became part of the Presbytery of Ross. |
