The earliest record of the existence of a church in Yetholm is in 1233, during a period when the cure of Yetholm belonged to the church of Glasgow. In 1836 the old church, which was still thatched with heather, was removed to make way for the present building, this church later underwent renovations in 1934. In 1956 Yetholm was linked with Hounam and further links followed in 1963 with Morebattle and in 1974 with Linton. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Kelso and later of Jedburgh. |
