The church of Kilmacolm was dedicated to St Columba, from whom the parish took its name, and formerly belonged to the Abbey of Paisley. Ministry of the session is recorded from 1567 in the person of Robert Mawell, reader. The parish church of Kilmacolm, which later became known as Kilmacolm Old, was rebuilt in 1833. The kirk session sits within the Presbytery of Greenock. |
