The Kirk Session of Edinburgh: St. Margaret's was disjoined from the parish of St. Cuthbert's and erected into a parish quoad sacra in 1885. The church of St. Margaret's had been opened a number of years earlier in 1881, which later underwent some restoration work in 1929. In 1941 a portion of Edinburgh, Old Kirk Parish was added to St. Margaret's and the congregation was later dissolved in 1969. Following the dissolution St. Margaret's church was sold to the Corporation of Edinburgh and removed to make way for new housing. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Edinburgh throughout its existence. |
