The building of Newcastle, St Andrew's began in the 12th century and the church is believed to be the oldest in Newcastle. Since its initial construction the church has required considerable repairs to be undertaken to the structure and it underwent many alterations prior to 1726, when the final addition was made to the church in the from of the South porch. The parish register commences in 1597. |
