The parish of Dunipace was a pre-reformation parish which belonged to the Abbey of Cambuskenneth. It was united with the parish of Larbert by Act of Parliament in 1617, confirmed by Act of Parliament in 1624. but each retained its parish church. The united parish was originally in the Presbytery of Stirling but later transferred to Linlithgow and Falkirk. The congregation took the name Larbert & Dunipace Old Parish Church in 1929. The union of the two parishes was dissolved in 1962, Dunipace retained the title Old and became Dunipace Old. It was linked with Dunipace North on 20 Mar 1964 and on 8 Jan 1989 the two were united to form Dunipace Parish Church.
A mission chapel was set up from Dunipace Parish Church in Carronshore in the nineteenth century. |
