The Church of Ardoch was opened initially as a chapel-of-ease in 1781 and was later granted constitution from the General Assembly in 1824. The Parish of Ardoch was disjoined from Muthill, Dunblane and Blackford in 1855 and erected as a parish quoad omnia. In 1929, when the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church united, Ardoch formed a union with the former United Free Church of Braco and Greenloaning. The united charge remained under the name of Ardoch and the former United Free church at Braco was demolished in the following year. In 1984 a link was formed between Ardoch and Blackford. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Auchterarder until the restructuring of the presbyteries in 1976 when it became part of the Presbytery of Perth. |
