The Parish of Pulteneytown was disjoined from the parish of Wick and erected into a quoad sacra parish on the 18th March 1878. The Parish church of Pulteneytown was erected some years earlier in 1842 as Pulteneytown Chapel. In 1929 the session became known as Wick Pulteneytown St Andrews and was later united with Thrumster in 1961 under the name of Wick St Andrew's and Thrumster. A further union was established in 1990 when Wick St Andrews and Thrumster joined with Wick Central to form the session of Wick Pulteneytown and Thrumster. The kirk session sits within the Presbytery of Caithness. |
