The parish church was dedicated to St Michael. Ministry began in 1568 in the person of George Douglas, parson. Throughout its existence the session has been within the jurisdiction of Lanark Presbytery. The church was rebuilt in 1750 and once again in 1905. On 30 March 1952 the session linked with Pettinain under Rev. W. M. Cunningham and was further linked with Covington and Thankerton St Michael's on 30 November 1972. |
