In the 19th century there was a chapel erected at Crosshill, within the area that now constitutes Baillieston parish, which was the first mission building of its kind erected by public subscription. It was granted chapel constitution in 1835. Baillieston kirk session was later disjoined from Old Monkland on the 9th December 1872. In 1966 Baillieston Old Parish Church was united with the former United Free Church congregation of Baillieston Rhinsdale, under the name of Baillieston St Andrew's. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Hamilton until the restructuring of the presbyteries in 1976 when it became part of the Presbytery of Glasgow. |
