The vicarage of Carluke was appropriated to the priory of Lesmahagow, its church, often called the Forrest Kirk, was dedicated to St Andrew with an earlier dedication to St Luag (or, Maluag). Ministry began in 1568 in the person of John Dobie (or, Dobbie), reader. Throughout its existence the session has been within the jurisdiction of Lanark Presbytery. In 1799 the church was rebuilt. |
