The Presbytery of Nairn was erected by the General Assembly on the 28th May 1773 and the register commences on the 27th July of the same year. The Presbytery was initially established by the annexation of the parishes of Ardlach, Auldearn, Cawdor and Nairn from the Presbytery of Forres, Croy from the Presbytery of Inverness and Ardersier from the Presbytery of Chanonry. By the early 20th century the Presbytery of Nairn had been dissolved and all the parishes within it joined to the Presbytery of Inverness. |
