The church of Creiff was dedicated to St Michael and was a prebend of Dunblane. Ministry within the session began in 1560 in the person of Alexander Christie. In 1776 the old parish church had fallen into such a state of disrepair that a petition was presented to the Presbytery of Auchterarder by several parishioners, requesting the provision of a new church. Consequently, in 1787, a new church was erected. Close to one hundred years later the present day church was built in 1882 and the church of 1787 was converted for use as a church hall. In 1989 Creiff Old Parish church (now termed Creiff St Michael's) was united with Creiff St Andrew's under the name of Creiff St Andrew's and St Michael's. A further union followed in 1997 when the charges of Creiff St Andrew's and St Michael's, and Creiff South and Monzievaird were united under the name of Creiff. The Kirk session of Creiff sat within the Presbytery of Auchterarder until the restructuring of the presbyteries in 1976 when it became part of the Presbytery of Perth. |
