Edinburgh St George's Church was founded on 14 May 1811 and erected by the Presbytery on 26 January 1814. The church building itself was based on a design by architect Robert Reid and was opened for worship on 5 June 1814. The congregation united with St Andrew's in 1974 under the name of St Andrew's and St George's Church of Scotland. The St George's church building was then sold to Edinburgh Corporation and developed into a archive repository named West Register House. |
