The Kirk Session of Lauder Old was established following the Reformation in 1560. Ministers to the parish are recorded from 1560. Prior to the Reformation the church belonged to the Abbey of Dryburgh. Lauder Old formed part of the Presbytery of Selkirk until 1613, the Presbytery of Earlston from 1613 to 1929, the Presbytery of Melrose from 1929 to 1976, and since the restructuring of presbyteries in 1976, part of the Presbytery of Melrose and Peebles. In 1973, it was linked with Channelkirk. |
