The church of Straiton, Ayrshire, originally served a medieval parish appropriated to Crossraguel Abbey. The pre-reformation church building was extended in 1759. The charge, now Kirkmichael linked with Straiton St Cuthbert?s, is in Ayr presbytery and was in the synod of Glasgow and Ayr until the reorganisation of 1929, thereafter in the synod of Ayr. Synods were abolished in 1993. |
