The church of Kettins was dedicated to St Bride and prior to the reformation it belonged to the ministry of the Red Friars at Peebles. In 1768 the church was rebuilt and was later enlarged in 1870 and again in 1891. Still standing within the churchyard there still remains the church bell which dates back to 1519. In 1960 Kettins was linked with the parish of Ardler and the two parishes were later united, along with Meigle, to form the united charge of Ardler, Kettins and Meigle. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Meigle and later of Dunkeld and Meigle. |
