The church of Tynron, prior to the reformation, belonged to the Abbey of Holyrood. The parish was linked with Glencairn and Moniavie in 1966 and in 1980 the kirk session of Penpont Keir and Tynron was formed by the union of the three named parishes. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Penpont, later of Dumfries and presently of Dumfries and Kirkcudbright. |
