It is thought that there has been a church on or near the site of the present Baldernock church since the early 13th century. The rectory of Baldernock of old constituted a very small parish until the Commissioner for the Plantation of Kirks significantly enlarged the parish boundaries in 1649 by annexing part of the Parish of Campsie and adding it to Baldernock. Ministry of the parish is recorded from 1568. The parish church was rebuilt in 1795. Baldernock Kirk Session sits within the Presbytery of Dumbarton. |
