The Kirk Session of Traquair, formerly known as Kirkbride, was established following the Reformation in 1560. Ministers to the parish are recorded from 1567. Prior to the Reformation, the church was part of the See of Glasgow, and dedicated to St Bride. Following the establishment of presbyteries by the General Assembly in 1581, the Kirk Session of Traquair became part of the Presbytery of Peebles. In 1976, it became part of the Presbytery of Melrose and Peebles. Traquair was linked with Innerleithen with Walkerburn, in 1984. |
