The Kirk Sessions of Broughton, Glenholm and Kilbucho were established following the Reformation in 1560, and were united in 1794. Ministers are recorded for Broughton from 1576, for Glenholm from 1569, and for Kilbucho from 1567. The parish formed part of the Presbytery of Biggar until 1929, when it became part of the Presbytery of Peebles. Following the restructuring of presbyteries in 1976, it became part of the Presbytery of Melrose and Peebles. Broughton, Glenholm and Kilbucho was linked with Skirling in 1967, and with Stobo and Drumelzier linked with Tweedsmuir, in 1977. |
