A Parliamentary chapel was built at Acharacal in 1833 and the parish itself was disjoined from Ardnamurchan and erected as an independent parish on the 16th March 1859. There was also a mission chapel erected within Acharacle parish at Glenborrodale.Following 1929, when the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church were joined together, Acharacle parish church was united with the former United Free Church congregation of Acharacle in 1930. After the union the former United Free Church was sold. Ardnamurchan was later linked with Acharacle in 1977. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Mull and later of Lochaber. |
