Ministry began within the session in 1583 in the person of John Spottiswood. In 1646 the session was divided into Mid-calder and West-Calder. Originally within the jurisdiction of Linlithgow Presbytery, the session was annexed to Edinburgh Presbytery in 1884. In 1952 Midcalder Bridgend kirk session was suppressed. |
