In April 1581 the General Assembly proposed to erect the Presbytery of Dalkeith and the register of the Presbytery commences on the 15th March, 1581. With the restructuring of presbyteries in 1976, the parishes within the presbytery of Dalkeith fell within the jurisdiction of the newly formed Presbytery of Lothian. The presbytery of Dalkeith formerly sat within the Synod of Lothian and Tweedale. |
