The church at Inchture belonged to the Priory of St Andrews, and in 1670 the congregation united with that of Rossie (previously called Rossanclearach) to form Inchture and Rossie Kirk Session. It seems that the name Rossie was dropped from the title of the church around 1852. In 1941 the congregation united with that of Kinnaird to become Inchture and Kinnaird Church of Scotland, but both church buildings continued to be used for worship. A link was established with Longforgan Church of Scotland on 4 April 1963, with a further link with the Abernyte charge in 1983. |
