Cambuslang Old Church, Lanarkshire, was the successor to a medieval parish. The church, in Cairns Road, was built in 1840 and extensively reconstructed in 1957. The former United Presbyterian Church in Church Street, Cambuslang was purchased by the Old Parish Church as a mission church under the name of Morriston Mission Church. This mission church closed in 1960 due to the redevelopment of the area, but the Old Parish Church continued. The Old Parish Church was in the presbytery of Hamilton until 1976, thereafter Glasgow, and in the synod of Glasgow and Ayr (later Clydesdale). |
