Eskdalemuir was disjoined from the parish of Westerkirk and erected into a separate parish in 1703. Ministry here is recorded from 1803 in the person of John Laurie. The original church, which was built in 1722, was replaced by a new construction in 1826 which later underwent restoration work in 1907. Eskdalemuir was linked with Hutton and Corrie in 1962 and with Tundergarth in 1986. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Langholm, later of Ananndale and presently of Annandale and Eskdale. |
