The church at Kippen was dedicated to St Bean. It was in the Presbytery of Dunblane which later became the Presbytery of Stirling and Dunblane. The original church dated back to around 1691, undergoing repairs in 1777, but eventually was left as a ruin, and a new church was built 1827. After the union of 1929 of the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland Kippen was officially known as Kippen Christ's Church to distinguish it from the former United Free church Kippen Muirhead Memorial. The two were united in 1944 and became Kippen Church. |
