The pre-Reformation church was dedicated to St Mungo and was endowed with the prebends belonging to the Collegiate Church of Crichton. Ministry began in 1567 in the person of Thomas Cranstoun, minister. Until 1976 the session was within the jurisdiction of Dalkeith Presbytery, after which time it was within the jurisdiction of Lothian Presbytery. On 1 June 1964 the session became linked with Heriot until 22 March 1981 when that link was terminated in favour of a linkage with Newtongrange. |
