The medieval church was granted to Holyrood Abbey by William de Vipont. Ministry began within the session in 1561 in the person of Andrew Simpson, exhorter. Until 1955 the session was within the jurisdiction of Haddington Presbytery, after which time it was within the jurisdiction of Haddington and Dunbar Presbytery. From at least 1976 the session was within the jurisdiction of Lothian Presbytery. In 1928 the session united with Saltoun forming Bolton and Saltoun Kirk Session which subsequently formed a link on 17 October 1979 with Humbie and Yester. In 2015 the congregation united with that of Yester and took the name of Yester, Bolton and Saltoun Parish Church. |
