Tullynessle was a prebend of Aberdeen and the church was dedicated to St Neachtan. The parishes of Tulynessle and Forbes were united in 1608 until 1722 when Forbes united with Kearns. They united again in 1808 and the united parish was linked with Alford in 1959 and with Keig in 1977. Howe Trinity parish was later established in 1999 when the three linked parishes were united together. The kirk session of Tullynessle was situated initially in the Presbytery of Alford, until by Act of Assembly XXII, 1962, the Presbytery of Deeside and the Presbytery of Alford were united under the name of Presbytery of Deeside and Alford. It presently lies within the jurisdiction of the Presbytery of Gordon. |
