Toumintoul church was built in 1826 , originally as a Parliamentary charge, and was later erected into a quoad sacra parish by the General Assembly in 1833. Ministry is recorded here from 1827 in the person of Charles McPherson. Kirkmichael and Tomintoul were linked in June 1953 however this arrangement was terminated on the 1st January 1957 in favour of a union between the two parishes on the same date, under the name of Kirkmichael and Tomintoul. The session was united with that of Glenlivet and Inveraven under the name of Tomintoul, Glenlivet and Inveraven in 2003. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Abernethy. |
