After being disjointed from the Prebyteries of Lanark and Peebles, Biggar Presbytery was erected by the General Assembly on 12 August 1643 and 3 June 1644. Biggar church, dedicated to St. Nicholas, was built in 1545 and was errected into a Collegiate Church in honour of the Trinity and the Virgin Mary by Lord Fleming. |
