By Crown Charters of 15 October 1570 and 1 August 1587 David Lindsay acquired the endowments and patronage of the churches in Kincardine, including Bervie. The session was initially within the jurisdiction of Fordoun Presbytery. By 1955 the session was within the jurisdiction of Angus and Mearns Presbytery, and by 1976 was within the jurisdiction of Kincardine and Deeside Presbytery. On 31 March 1980, the session linked with Benholm and Johnshaven, that arrangement being terminated on 15 April 1984. On 27 August 1987 the session linked with Arbuthnott and Kineff, that arrangement being terminated on 13 September 1990. |
