The Kirk Session of Stow St. Mary of Wedale was established following the Reformation in 1560. Ministers to the parish are recorded from 1568. Stow St. Mary of Wedale formed part of the Presbytery of Selkirk until 1613, part of the Presbytery of Earlston from 1613 to 1929, and part of the Presbytery of Melrose from 1929 to 1976. With the restructuring of presbyteries in 1976, it became part of the Presbytery of Melrose and Peebles. In 1992, Stow St. Mary of Wedale was united with Heriot, from the Presbytery of Dalkeith. |
