The church of Stevenston High was dedicated to St Monach and prior to the reformation belonged to the Abbey of Kilwinning. Ministry here is recorded from 1560 in the person of Stephen Wilkinson. The old parish church was rebuilt in 1833. Stevenston High Kirk session sat with in the Presbytery of Irvine, later of Ardrossan and formerly the Synod of Ayr. |
