In 1856 the General Assembly granted a constitution at Skelmorlie to Kelly Bridge Chapel. The parish was later disjoined from Inverkip and Largs and erected as a separate charge in 1860. Ministry at Skelmorlie is recorded from 1856 in the person of Henry Alexander Pattullo. The parish later became termed as Skelmorlie and Wemyss Bay and in 1972 a union was formed with the United Free Church of Skelmorlie and Wemyss Bay South. The kirk session sits within the Presbytery of Greenock and was formerly within the Synod of Clydesdale. |
