A parish in the county of Shetland. It was sometimes referred to as Sandsting and Aithsting after the two parishes were united in the sixteenth century. Sandsting parish kirk was erected in 1780. The Church of Scotland kirk session for Sandsting sat within the presbytery of Lerwick (Shetland or Scalloway) and later of Olnafirth, and the synod of Shetland. |
