In the 12th century the old church of Roxburgh was granted to the Church of St Mungo of Glasgow. There was a new church erected at Roxburgh in 1752, which subsequently underwent extensive reparations in 1828. Roxburgh was linked in 1961 with Oxnam, under the ministry of Rev W.M.D. Thomson, minister at Oxnam. A further linkage was formed with Crailing and Eckford in 1977, but this arrangement was terminated in 1999 and Roxburgh has since been linked with Makerstoun and Smailholm. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Kelso, later of Jedburgh and Kelso and currently of Jedburgh. |
