The register of the Synod of Ross commences on the 18th March 1707, there is however a previous volume, recorded under the title of the Presbytery of Ross, which begins in 1693. There were three Presbyteries that originally say within the Synod, namely Chanonry, Dingwall and Tain. By the early 20th Century the Synod had joined with the Synod of Sutherland and Caithness to form the Presbytery of Ross, Sutherland and Caithness. |
