The medieval church was dedicated to St Inan and was appropriated to the Abbey of Kilwinning. Ministry began in 1574 with Thomas Boyd serving as reader. Until a little time after 1955 Beith High Kirk session fell within the jurisdiction of Irvine Presbytery and by 1976 was within the jurisdiction of Ardrossan Presbytery. Parliament passed an Act on 28 June 1663 to allow for the construction of a new church. On the 29 May 1996 the session linked with Beith Trinity kirk session. |
