The Presbytery of Paisley was severed from the Presbytery of Dunbarton in 1590 and is believed to have functioned as a court from the 8th April 1593. The Presbytery register however does not begin until 1602. The Presbytery formerly sat within the Synod of Glasgow and later of Clydesdale. |
