Ordiquhill formerly existed as a chapelry in the parish of Fordyce where public worship was performed once a month. It was disjoined from Fordyce and erected into a separate parish in 1622. The church, which was erected at or around the same time, was built on the spot of the Old Chapel of St Mary's Ordiquhill was united with the session of Cornhill in 1941 to form the united parish of Ordiquhill. Both churches remained is use after the union. It was further united in 1961 with Ord initially under the name of Ordiquhill, Cornhill and Ord, however, Ord was later dropped from the name. In 1988 Ordiquhill and Cornhill united with Boyndie and the name of session was changed in 1999 to Boyndie and Whitehills. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Fordyce until by Act of Assembly XXXI, 1961, the Presbytery of Strathbogie and the Presbytery of Fordyce were united under the name of the Presbytery of Strathbogie and Fordyce. |
