The church at Oldhamstocks was dedicated by Bishop David de Bernham in 1242 and ministry is recorded here from 1547, in the person of Thomas Hepburn. The oldest building currently standing, which was built on the foundations of a 14th century church, dates from the 16th Century, and 17th and 18th century memorials are still to be found in the churchyard, Oldhamstocks was linked with Cockburnspath in 1947 and later in 1994 the Parish of Dunglass was formed by the union of Cockburnspath, Innerwick and Oldhamstocks. The kirk session sat within the presbytery of Dunbar and later of Haddington and Dunbar. |
