The records of the Synod of Merse and Teviotdale begin in April 1661. Initially the Synod's boundaries were formed by the following Presbyteries: Duns, Churnside, Kelso, Jedburgh, Earlston and Selkirk. By the early 20th century however the Synod comprised only three Presbyteries, namely Duns Jedburgh and Melrose. |
