The court of Lanark was erected by the General Assembly in 1585, the Presbytery register begins on the 26th June 1623 Lanark Presbytery covers the Clydesdale District of South Lanarkshire, around the upper area of the River Clyde. It is a primarily rural area, and the largest towns within the Presbytery are Carluke and Lanark. There are currently 26 Congregations in Lanark Presbytery. It formerly sat within the Synod of Glasgow and Ayr. |
