The church of Kinnettles which sat in the Presbytery of Forfar (later Presbytery of Angus) and formerly the Synod of Angus and Mearns, belonged to the Collegiate church of St Mary and was dedicated by Bishop de Berham in 1241. The old church was demolished in 1812 to make way for a new building. Ministry is recorded at Kinnettles from 1567. The parish was linked on the 30th June 1957 with Inverarity under the ministry of Rev W. F Paxton, minister at Inverarity. This link was terminated in the following year in favour of a union between the two parishes. Inverarity and Kinnetles further united with Glamis in 1982 and the congregations joined together in 1996 to form Glamis, Inverarity and Kinnettles. |
