The parishes of Kineff and Caterline were united by the Court of teinds in 1719. The church of Kineff was dedicated to St Adamnan and Caterline to St Katherine. Following the union in 1719 both churches continued in use up until 1933 when the two congregations were joined under the name of Kinneff Kirk Session. Kinneff later linked with Arbuthnott in 1967 and Bervie in 1987. The link with Bervie was severed in 1990 in favour of a linkage with Stonehaven South. The parish sat within the Presbytery of Fordoun (later Brechin and Fordoun) until 1961 when Act of Assembly XXXIII united the presbyteries of Arbroath, Forfar and Brechin and Fordoun under the name of Angus and Mearns. |
