The church of Inveraven, which was dedicated to St Peters, was, together with Urquhart, a prebend held by the Chancellor of the Diocese of Moray. Ministry is initially recorded at Inveravon in 1576 in the person of Alexander Gordon. In 1953 the parish was united with Glenlivet and Craggan to form the kirk session of Inveraven and Glenlivet. A further union took place with the Session of Kirkmichael and Tomintoul in 2003, the united charge taking the name of Tomintoul Glenlivet and Inveraven church of Scotland. It was initially seated within the Presbytery of Aberlour but by 1930 had fallen within the jurisdiction of the Presbytery of Abernethy. |
