Prior to the reformation Heriot Church, which is in the Presbytery of Dalkeith, was dedicated to St Mary and belonged to the Abbey of Newbattle. Ministry is recorded from 1570 in the name of Adam Foulis. Heriot was linked in 1964 with Borthwick however the link was later terminated in 1981. |
